These terms govern your use of the Glimpse One mobile app for Android (“the app”), provided by Glimpse Tech (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

Your use of our website is governed separately by the terms published at glimpsetech.in.

1. What the app is

Glimpse One is the companion app for Glimpse One smart glasses. It receives video from the glasses over USB, applies magnification, contrast, brightness and colour adjustments, can read visible text aloud, and can capture photos and video to encrypted storage on your phone.

The app requires Glimpse One smart glasses and a phone that supports USB host mode. It is not a standalone magnifier and does not use your phone’s built-in camera.

2. Not a medical device

Do not rely on the app in any situation where a failure, delay or inaccuracy could lead to injury. In particular, do not rely on it while driving or operating machinery, or as your only means of identifying hazards, medication, or safety-critical information. Always verify important information — such as medication labels, financial documents and legal documents — by another means.

Text recognition and reading aloud are automated and can be wrong, incomplete, or mistimed.

3. Your account

You need an account to use the app. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. Your mobile number identifies your account, and one-time passwords sent to it are the means of signing in — keep access to that number secure.

You must be 18 or older to create an account. One account per person. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app, or at app.glimpsetech.in/delete-account. Deletion is permanent.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app to record people where you do not have the right or consent to do so, or in a way that breaks local privacy, recording or surveillance law;
• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except as permitted by law;
• interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems;
• use the app for any unlawful purpose.

You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you use the glasses. Rules on recording other people vary between countries and states.

5. Your content

Photos and videos you capture are stored encrypted on your own phone. We do not receive them, cannot access them, and cannot recover them for you if they are lost, if you delete them, or if you uninstall the app. Keeping your own backups is your responsibility.

You retain all rights in what you capture.

6. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue parts of the app at any time. We may need to interrupt the service for maintenance. Features that depend on our servers — creating an account and signing in — require an internet connection.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and the Glimpse and Glimpse One names and logos belong to Glimpse Tech. Using the app does not transfer any of those rights to you. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app with your Glimpse One glasses.

8. Third-party components

The app uses Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition and Android’s built-in text-to-speech. Their behaviour is governed by their own terms.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or use the app in a way that harms other users or our systems. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

11. Privacy

Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at <city>, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes are posted here with a new date, and material changes will be notified in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
