Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Glimpse Tech (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Glimpse One mobile app for Android. It supplements our website privacy policy, which continues to cover glimpsetech.in.

1. Information we collect

When you create an account in the app, we collect:

First and last name
Mobile number and country code
Gender
Date of birth
City

We send a one-time password (OTP) to your mobile number to confirm that the number is yours.

We do not collect your email address, your precise or device location, your contacts, or any payment information through the app.

2. Camera, microphone, and what stays on your phone

Glimpse One works with Glimpse One smart glasses connected by USB. This part matters, so we state it plainly:

The camera permission is used only for the glasses. Android requires an app to hold the camera permission before it may receive video from a USB camera. Glimpse One uses it for the glasses’ camera. It does not use your phone’s built-in camera.
Video from the glasses is processed on your phone and is never sent to us.
Reading text aloud happens on your device. Text recognition runs locally using Google ML Kit. The image is not uploaded in order to recognise the text in it.
The microphone permission is used to record audio from the microphone built into your glasses, and only when you start a recording.
Photos and videos you capture stay on your phone. They are encrypted with AES-256-GCM in the app’s private storage. They do not appear in your phone’s gallery, other apps cannot read them, and they are never uploaded to us. If you uninstall the app they are deleted with it, and we cannot recover them for you.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

4. Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers who host our systems and process it on our instructions, and where we are required to by law. Your mobile number is passed to our SMS provider for the sole purpose of delivering your one-time password.

5. Security

Information sent between the app and our servers is protected in transit using TLS encryption. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it from unauthorised access.

Photos and videos you capture never reach our servers at all, so they cannot be exposed by a breach of them.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. One-time passwords expire five minutes after they are issued and are then deleted automatically.

7. Deleting your account and your data

You can delete your account and the personal information linked to it at any time:

In the app: Profile → Delete account

By email: contact@glimpsetech.in, from your registered mobile number

Deleting your account permanently removes your name, mobile number, gender, date of birth and city from our systems, along with any outstanding one-time passwords. This cannot be undone. Photos and videos held on your own phone are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall it.

8. Children

Glimpse One is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to provide you with a copy of it. Contact us at contact@glimpsetech.in.

10. Not a medical device

Glimpse One is an assistive vision-enhancement tool. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional eye care.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be notified in the app.
